Pre (CDMA)
The Palm Pre caused quite a stir with its launch on June 6th 2009. Although at time of writing still only available in the CDMA version, we couldn’t resist mentioning it. The Palm Pre features Palm’s new Linux-based operating system, called webOS, with a multi-touch screen and sliding QWERTY keyboard. Add to that a 3-megapixel camera and built-in GPS, and we can start to see why Sprint reported record sales of as many as 100,000 units in the first week!
Take listings you see here with a pinch of salt – and as long as there is no GSM version, they will refer to the Sprint CDMA version, and you will need to investigate the situation with regards to the contract. Here in Europe, we’d rather wait for the GSM version, when unlocked versions are sure to start appearing.
