What to say about Motorola! They were the first company to produce a commercial cellular phone in 1983, the Motorola DynaTAC, which weighed not far off 2lbs (around 800g) Motorola also claim to have demonstrated the first working GSM cellular network and handsets in 1991. Motorola, together with Cisco, also sold the first commercial GPRS network system in 2000. So you could say they’ve been on the cutting edge from day one.

And if you’ll pardon the pun, talking of cutting edges, it’s the Motorola Razr that’s currently making waves.

Earlier Motorola had a reputation for high quality but also premium prices. However nowadays they are much on a par with other manufacturers.
